OCT 1st:

U9 BME v St. Laurence's

The St. Laurence's U9 team were hosted by Ballymore on a murky and rainy night. However, despite the weather, the players on the pitch put in a great performance. Ballymore were first on the scoreboard with a perfectly judged lob. St. Laurence's got back level almost immediately though with a fantastic long range effort. The wet conditions meant that both teams were struggling with a slippery ball but still managed to produce some great football. St. Laurences expertly converted plenty of their chances but Ballymore's final score was a great example of good teamwork with the forward line putting together six quick handpasses before the ball was finally put over the bar.

A really good game with all the players on the pitch ignoring the miserable weather and trying their very best throughout the match.

SEPT 16TH:

BME and Suncroft U9's:

Suncroft made the trip to Ballymore for their U9's Southboard league game. The home side opened the scoring with a fabulous free kick into the top corner of the goal, however, the visitors responded quickly and got some really well taken team scores despite the attention of the Ballymore defence.

Ballymore went in behind at half time but started the second half brightly. They managed to get a number of scores early in the half which put them right back in the game. Both sides traded scores as the game closed in a very tight finish. Well done to all the players and to Aibhe Graham who did very well in her refereeing debut.

SEPT 3rd:

Match Report from Robertsown V Ballymore:

The sun shone down on the pitch in Robertstown as the U9's game between the home team and Ballymore got under way. The first quarter saw both teams trying to get some early scores but good defensive work from the two teams meant the scoring was low early in the game.

The teams had the feel of the ball in the second quarter and some slick passing created some good opportunities. Both teams took these opportunities well which meant things were tight at half time.

Ballymore started the second half very strong but the hosts were quick to bounce back and, despite some really good tackling and blocking, the scores were coming thick and fast. Despite all the effort the children put in over the course of the game they seemed to have had plenty in reserve with the two sides pushing until the very end.

It was great to see the kids back on the field of play and to see them compete so well on the pitch too.
